Transfer procedure

A transfer should be initiated with an authorization code. This authorization code can be requested at the current registrar and is valid for 40 days. The transfer is processed in realtime without any delay.

- If the current registrar is not able to or does not cooperate in providing the authorization code the registrant can request the authorization code via the whois pages on the registry's website. This should be used as a last resort.
- Transfer from quarantine is possible; this is handled just as a normal transfer without additional costs.

Trade procedure

You can change the owner of a .eu domain name by replacing the contact in your domain management.

Update procedure

A contact update can be performed by updating the handle of the domain. This change is processed realtime.

Delete procedure

A delete is realtime. After a delete the domain will be in Redemption Period status for 40 days. During this period the domain is inactive but can be reactivated. If the domain is not reactivated within 40 days the domain will be free for registration again.

Reactivation procedure

A domain in quarantine status can be reactivated during 40 days. A reactivation is realtime.
